PORT OF STARS X LUCIE KOLDOVÁ
"JOURNEY THROUGH LIGHT"

Studio Days

First impression of Port of Stars showroom is its serenity as you step from outside into light filled rooms connecting one to another, leading to the studio where most of our production, meetings and creations happen. Fabrics are at the center of each design, how to combine them, work with them and find ways to bring about their potential, with beauty and integrity part of our core philosophy.

We are based in the beautiful neighbourhood of Prague 7 right by Stromovka Park. Our Showroom and Studio are the heart of our work, from design meetings to client appointments. With a light filled space and always ready with an aromatic cup of tea to create a mindful presence and welcoming atmosphere.

Our philosophy is deeply embedded in the art of collaboration, craft, and sustainability. Each piece is approached individually, with special care in the finest detail to create pieces that evoke intrigue over prettiness. Every piece is handmade locally and often hand-stitched to create a unique look, producing designs that combine craft with luxury.

Sustainability & Local Production

Making sustainable choices is the most important aspect of the studio, without compromising the designs' quality or integrity. Where possible working with organic cotton, natural linen, silk, and often using leftover materials from fabric providers. Through clever design and experience of Radka Kubková all leftover fabrics and small cuts are saved and reincorporated into future designs to maintain a zero-waste approach. With this philosophy, there is continuity in the pieces and small reminders of the previous collections making each garment truly original. All the pieces are produced in Czechia or Slovakia.

Immersing into the meanings between the romantic and the awkward, sensual yet private, drawing inspiration from female prolific icons, modern and independent style of women in Paris circa 1910’s. These women of art remind us of the subtle nature of female resistance to the status quo, how in soft shadows a hidden strength prevails.
