Days of Wonder – Studio Days
First impression of Port of Stars showroom is its serenity as you step from outside into light filled rooms connecting one to another, leading to the studio where most of our production, meetings and creations happen. In the center of the studio is our custom made design table, for meetings, cutting fabric, tea break or packing our beautiful pieces for our clients. There is always a buzz in the studio, great excitement as new fabrics arrive and ignites the conversations around our next creation. Fabrics are at the center of each design, how to combine them, work with them and find ways to bring about their potential, with beauty and integrity part of our core philosophy.
As part of our focus on sustainability we attempt to order and use all the fabric that is planned for the collection. So the studio most of the time is filled with small cut aways, leftover from the cuttings. These are piled and collected to either be used in small parts of the design or broken down and reincorporated as fillings, details or linings.
A small kitchen is filled with ceramics by Little branch studio, a side passion of our Creative Director. The subtle pale textured pieces add to the color palette of the studio to bring the whole concept together. In between collections the studio has its own atmosphere, branches fill vases dotted around white washed stands. Photographs from previous campaigns adorn the walls and a subtle scent runs through the studio. We love how the space not only serves to bring about positive working atmosphere but a space that always welcomes visitors to come by and be part of the process that makes Port of Stars synonymous with new energy and inclusive attitude.
